Bullock Clarifies Subdivision Review Laws

Attorney General Steve Bullock on Friday ruled that Montana’s subdivision review law applies to all potential uses, not just residential uses.  The opinion also concluded that an exemption from review for the sale, rent or lease of multiple parts of a building applies only to a single building, not to multiple buildings.

Bullock: Break for candidates under term limits based on when term is served, not filing date

In a formal opinion released Wednesday, Attorney General Steve Bullock has concluded that a candidate may file for an elected office if, at the time the candidate begins to serve in that office, he or she will have had an eight-year break in service over a 16-year period.

Attorney General Bullock Issues Statement after Lead Plaintiff Appeals Corporate Spending Limit Case to U.S. Supreme Court

On Dec. 30, the Montana Supreme Court sided with Attorney General Steve Bullock and re-affirmed Montana’s ban on direct corporate contributions in political elections. Bullock personally argued the state’s case for restoring the ban  and has played a national role in working to maintain the integrity of elections.

    Montana Highway Patrol Tamra Winchell, 29, decided in fifth grade she wanted to be in law enforcement. She has been with the force since 2005. Three years into her career as a Montana Highway Patrol trooper, Winchell was badly injured when she was hit by a drunk driver while investigating a vehicle accident.
